First Guest Post

Those who know me well know how I become mummified, encased in my own fear and doubt, when faced with public speaking. My definition of "public" is simple: any time all eyes are focused on me.

Thank goodness no one can see me sweating bullets on a blog.

My first "guest starring" appearance is today at Monica's wonderfully motivating "SmarterFitter" blog.

She has beautiful photos of the mind-bogglingly healthy meals she eats, interspersed with oh-so-casual mentions of the incredible exercising she does, like when she cycled more than 20 miles one day just commuting.

It all sounds so effortless and easy when she does it!

But I know, from experience, that getting to that point isn't so easy for some of us. Monica asked me to write something, anything, so I chose to tell about how I approach making my big diet changes. Those of you who've been following me will recall I'm in transition from a meat-based diet to some combination of veggie/vegan/raw. Amid all the temptations that surround me, this is how I manage to make headway.

Check it out. I hope you enjoy!

Gosh, Lance, I can hear you clapping! Thank you!! Yes, I'm addicted to Monica's blog; she's so enthusiastic and refreshing! I've learned a lot from her posts, too. She's one smart cookie!

Fantastic news Julie! Same as Lance I have many times greatly enjoyed Monica's blog and so I'm off to see your post! Congrats!

By the way, I know Lance, and Monica's blogs and yours and I see our names commenting on other blogs we know, isn't it funny how interconnected we all are in this virtual world :)

Evita - It IS amazing how interconnected the blogging world is. Amazing and cool, especially when things overlap so well - like Julie's post on my blog!

I read the post again last night after yet another social meet-up that occurred at the pub (oh London life) and needed to remind myself of that whole "time" thing. I have a feeling I"ll be going back to that post often whenever I need a little reminder like that.

Julie, I'd love to hear more about this veggie/vegan/raw thing you're doing. When you have time. =)

Hi Julie. You did an excellent job at this guest post! I left my comment over there...

Hi, Evita! Monica's got a great blog, doesn't she? So uplifting...

Yes, I'm continually excited and amazed how small our world has become because of this medium---very neighborly---and it's immeasurably expanded, too, for exactly the same reason. Gabbing, sharing thoughts and ideas, learning and growing... It's like we're the world's largest group of friends!

Monica, hi! Thanks, again, for hosting me! I'm glad you found my post useful, and I like that you're revisiting something there.

Thanks for asking!... My Oct. 2 post, "I'm Becoming Someone Else, explains how my diet change started; maybe I'll post an update on how well we're managing. Though yesterday was a rare "off" day, it still was good: My husband voluntarily admitted he'd had a "gluten-laden slice of pizza for lunch, but it was meatless!" Isn't that cute? Really, it's been much easier than I anticipated!

Hi Julie, I know I’ve already commented about your guest post but I also wanted to drop in and say thanks for your support and positivity over at our new little venture. It’s great to see you there Julie, getting involved and cheering so loudly. We need you there, you add something we all need in abundence – a willing and positive spirit.

:) Dave

Dave! It's you! You're so sweet... Thanks for stopping in.

How could I not be a part of what you're doing at www.blogtofit.com? What you're doing is WONDERFUL. You, Tara, and Dave were so creative to come up with such a fun way to do something so positive. It's perfect timing for me, as well, since I'm in transition (nearly there) to some form of vegetarianism, and gluten-free to boot. The getting-fit-and-healthy community you're building is going to help me with my related goals.

I'M the one thanking YOU!

Honestly Julie, if Tara David and I were left to our own devices we'd be in big trouble teasing each other and making inappropriate comments. It’s the guests who make the place what it is and I’m so glad you’re involved. :)

Oh and thank you for leaving a little link. I wasn't going to do it. I hadn't intended to advertise I just wanted to spend some time here. :)

Teasing's GOOD. Spitting out our tea is good! :) And I'm so glad you are here... I know you didn't intend to advertise, Dave, but I'm happy to sing accolades however I can. You deserve it! :)
